Banana Fiber/Banana Fibre
Banana fiber is similar to natural bamboo fiber, but the spinability, smoothness and tensile strength of banana fiber are said to be better. Banana fiber can be used to make a number of different textiles of varying weight and thickness, based on which part of the banana stem the fiber is produced from. Thicker, stronger fibers are obtained from the outer sheaths of the banana plant, while the inner sheaths produce softer fibers. Bananas are a plant that only bears fruit once. Farmers harvest the bananas and then cut down the entire stem. The number of banana tree trunks discarded each year is more than 1 billion tons.
Updating the current world trend of protecting and being environmentally friendly, in recent years banana fiber has attracted the attention and concern of manufacturers in countries around the world.
