According to statistics, Vietnam has 105.4 thousand hectares of grapefruit cultivation, with an output of nearly 905 thousand tons, with diverse grapefruit varieties, typical for each region. This is a huge opportunity for Vietnamese fruits in general and fresh grapefruit in particular to reach many potential markets including the United States.
Grapefruit is the 7th Vietnamese fruit allowed to be exported to the US market, after mangoes, longans, lychees, dragon fruits, rambutans and star apples.
